Skid Steer Loader Safety & Operating Guidelines

Release Date: 2026.05.20
  • Pre-Operation Inspection: Always fasten your seatbelt and wear appropriate PPE. Check engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid, tires, and attachment locking pins before startup.

  • Smooth Control: Accelerate gradually. Avoid abrupt movements of the joysticks. Prohibit sudden braking or high-speed sharp turns to maintain stability.

  • Maneuvering: When performing pivot turns, avoid sharp rocks or deep mud. Maintain low speeds when operating in confined or congested areas.

  • Load Handling: Keep the bucket/load as low as possible during transit. When driving on slopes, keep the heavy end (usually the load) uphill; travel in reverse when descending with a full bucket.

  • Operational Safety: NEVER exceed the Rated Operating Capacity (ROC). Carrying passengers or lifting personnel on the bucket/attachment is strictly prohibited.

  • Breaking & Demolition: Ensure the chassis is stable during hydraulic breaking. Avoid prying or excessive force on hard objects to prevent tipping.

  • Hazardous Terrain: Exercise extreme caution on high-reach work, steep slopes, or soft ground. Watch for traction loss to prevent rollovers.

  • Parking Protocol: Lower the attachment flat to the ground, shut down the engine, and engage the parking brake. Clean the machine of debris before leaving the site.

  • Emergency Response: If abnormal noise, vibration, or fluid leaks occur, shut down the machine immediately for inspection.

  • Qualified Operation: Unauthorized modification of attachments is prohibited. Operators must be fully trained and familiar with site conditions before commencing tasks.
